Lead a multi-disciplinary team in managing and ensuring quality control for major construction projects, focusing on construction engineering administration and inspection programs within the FL FDOT team. This role involves significant decision-making, providing work direction, and mentoring staff to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team of QA/QC members to manage construction projects
- Train and mentor staff
- Assign team tasks daily
- Review and resolve technical problems
- Ensure compliance on inspections and activities of all quality related work
- Oversee higher level inspectors and engineers in functional areas like construction inspection and surveying
- Oversee scheduling and status, roadway design, traffic signal equipment, traffic signalization and geometrics, materials sampling, inspection and testing
- Direct highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection programs
Requirements
- Bachelors in Civil, Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management (4 year degree) or Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management (2 year degree) with ten (10) years of progressive technical experience
- PE license in the state of Florida
- Six (6) years of major road or bridge construction experience
- Direct highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program
- Attend the CTQP Quality Control Manager course and pass the examination
- FDOT Advanced MOT
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction
- Considerable knowledge of mathematical functions, including algebra, geometry and trigonometry related to highway/transportation engineering
- Valid Driver's License
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Civil, Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management (4 year degree) or Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management (2 year degree)
- 10 years of progressive technical experience if an Associate's degree, or 6 years of major road or bridge construction experience
