About This Role

Lead a multi-disciplinary team in managing and ensuring quality control for major construction projects, focusing on construction engineering administration and inspection programs within the FL FDOT team. This role involves significant decision-making, providing work direction, and mentoring staff to ensure project success and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team of QA/QC members to manage construction projects
  • Train and mentor staff
  • Assign team tasks daily
  • Review and resolve technical problems
  • Ensure compliance on inspections and activities of all quality related work
  • Oversee higher level inspectors and engineers in functional areas like construction inspection and surveying
  • Oversee scheduling and status, roadway design, traffic signal equipment, traffic signalization and geometrics, materials sampling, inspection and testing
  • Direct highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection programs

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Civil, Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management (4 year degree) or Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management (2 year degree) with ten (10) years of progressive technical experience
  • PE license in the state of Florida
  • Six (6) years of major road or bridge construction experience
  • Direct highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program
  • Attend the CTQP Quality Control Manager course and pass the examination
  • FDOT Advanced MOT
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction
  • Considerable knowledge of mathematical functions, including algebra, geometry and trigonometry related to highway/transportation engineering
  • Valid Driver's License

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Civil, Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management (4 year degree) or Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management (2 year degree)
  • 10 years of progressive technical experience if an Associate's degree, or 6 years of major road or bridge construction experience
