This Senior Programs Assistant position supports the Mohave County Public Health Nutrition & Health Division by preparing, sorting, and delivering meals for both congregate and homebound clients. Additionally, the role involves performing clerical duties and maintaining the facility.
Responsibilities
- Occasionally cover for the Site Coordinator
- Pick up meals for homebound and congregate program participants
- Sort homebound meals by client route and package for delivery
- Serve congregate meals
- Wash dishes associated with food service
- Perform basic clerical duties including answering phones, data entry, and filing paperwork
- Perform housekeeping tasks at the assigned center
- Deliver meals as needed
- Create and maintain a supportive work environment and cooperative relationships
- Apply basic principles, practices, techniques, teaching, and communication methods related to community members
Requirements
- Ability to travel throughout different county locations
- Ability to lift 1lb up to 50lbs frequently
- Experience in food handling, transporting food and/or working in a commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of food handling techniques to assure safe and sanitary transport, food preparation, and storing of food
- Knowledge of records maintenance and common office practices
- Ability to use common office equipment
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED (General Education Degree)
- Experience in food handling, transporting food, and/or working in a commercial kitchen
