Senior Network Engineer

About This Role

Manage and ensure the reliable operation of telecommunications, network, and internet infrastructure, primarily utilizing Palo Alto and Cisco SD-WAN technologies. This role involves proactive network monitoring, vendor management, and collaborating with IT peers to exceed customer service level agreements.

Responsibilities

• Manage Telecommunications, Network, and Internet activities
• Ensure Network and Telecom group exceeds customer SLA expectations
• Use network monitoring tools to proactively manage the network
• Ensure adequate system documentation
• Manage telecom equipment and service procurement, including equipment inventories and software licenses
• Manage suppliers in the Telecom supply chain
• Collaborate effectively with peers in IT and other departments
• Perform Network Analysis, tracking traffic types and bandwidth usage
• Manage SDWAN infrastructure
• Work with third-party vendors for project implementation and support
• Create and maintain network diagrams

Requirements

• 5+ years of IT experience with 3+ years in Telecom or network operations
• Experience supporting remote offices
• Experience supporting Cisco Switching and Routing, Meraki Wireless, and Palo Alto Firewalls
• Experience with NAC tools (Cisco ISE, PortNox)
• SDWAN Administration, configuration and support
• VPN (GRE/IPSEC)
• Cloud Networking experience with a focus on Azure
• Palo Alto network experience (primary skillset)
• Cisco SD-WAN network experience (secondary skillset)

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5 years of IT experience with 3 years in Telecom or network operations

Nice to Have

• Unix/LINUX experience
• Monitoring and NCM experience
