Senior Machine Learning Engineer – Credit Risk

About This Role

Design, build, and deploy machine learning models focused on credit risk and underwriting for an early-stage fintech startup. Own the full ML lifecycle, translating business problems into scalable ML solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy machine learning models focused on credit risk and underwriting use cases
• Own the full ML lifecycle, from data exploration and feature engineering to production deployment and monitoring
• Work closely with product and engineering to translate business problems into scalable ML solutions
• Improve model performance, stability, explainability, and compliance in a regulated environment
• Operate with a high level of autonomy in a small, fast-moving startup team

Requirements

• 4-5 years professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist with strong deployment exposure
• Expertise in credit risk modeling (PD, LGD, EAD, underwriting, scoring models)
• Strong Python skills
• Hands-on experience deploying models into production environments
• Background in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
• Excellent communication skills
• Ownership mindset
• Ability to thrive in a highly autonomous startup environment

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
• 4-5 years of professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist with strong deployment exposure
