Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic

About This Role

As a Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for the service and repair of vital heavy equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders at one of WM's recycling facilities. Your work on this high-skill equipment will be recognized for its significant impact on the company's operations across the USA, contributing to comprehensive waste management and environmental services.

Responsibilities

• Repair and service heavy equipment including bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars
• Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems
• Perform preventative maintenance according to site checklists
• Complete paperwork and administrative tasks such as work orders, card files, P.M. checklists, and oil samples
• Service and maintain other equipment including light plants, water pumps, and welders

Requirements

• 4 years of maintenance mechanic experience on heavy equipment
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Able to work in the United States
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position
• Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and physical

Qualifications

• 4 years of maintenance mechanic experience on heavy equipment

Nice to Have

• Experience with Yellow iron, Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu equipment
