Senior DevOps Engineer

About This Role

Lead the design and implementation of Azure infrastructure components for applications within Deloitte Technology-TAX POD, collaborating with development teams to automate IT operations. This role focuses on building robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments while fostering a DevOps culture and continuously developing advanced skills across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Azure infrastructure components for applications.
• Collaborate with development teams, utilizing scripting languages to support Automated IT operations methodology.
• Contribute to technical documentation, security awareness, and cross-team training.
• Balance deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to ensure robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments.
• Drive DevOps culture across teams.
• Design, implement, and manage Azure DevOps pipelines for CI/CD automation.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep, and JSON.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using PowerShell, Azure Automation, and AI-assisted scripting tools.
• Manage and optimize Azure environments, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Leverage GenAI tools to enhance code generation, documentation, testing, and release processes.
• Support containerization and orchestration with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) and Docker.
• Implement GitHub Actions for application and infrastructure automation deployments.
• Collaborate with application and AI development teams to streamline cloud-native and AI-enhanced best practices.
• Work closely with enterprise stakeholders to align DevOps and AI strategies with business objectives.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure and AI-integrated CI/CD pipelines.
• Coordinate with Member firm leads and process team leads on security solution alignment and solution implementation on cloud platforms.
• Lead and coordinate technical teams, ensuring efficient collaboration and performance across different geographical locations.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Implement Software Configuration Management processes to control and build new versions for releases.

Requirements

• 5 years of relevant IT experience supporting applications and hosting or 3 years of related experience with an advanced degree
• 2+ years pertaining to Cloud hosting (PaaS preferable) as well as the development & support of CI/CD environments
• 2 years of experience writing scripts in one or a combination of the following languages: C#, PowerShell, Perl, Unix Shell Scripting, Terraform, or JavaScript (Node.js)
• 2 years of experience managing systems in environments where IT service management frameworks are leveraged (based on ITIL, COBIT, MOF, or similar frameworks)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Business, or similar and/or equivalent relevant experience

• 5 years of relevant IT experience supporting applications and hosting, or 3 years of related experience with an advanced degree.

• Ability to work a schedule that accommodates on call support hours
• Working understanding of web hosting infrastructure architectures, SDLC, basic programming practices, and core networking principles
• Strong understanding of cloud application troubleshooting techniques and strategies including the ability to use a variety troubleshooting tools
• Ability to manage multiple project deliverables on multiple projects effectively
• Excellent communication and reasoning skills
