This role is for a strategic Senior Compensation Consultant to help shape compensation strategies at Microsoft, using data-driven insights to influence key talent and business decisions. You will partner with leaders to translate business priorities into actionable compensation solutions, ensuring alignment with market practices to attract, retain, and reward top talent.
Responsibilities
- Create solutions and advise HR Business Partner (HRBP) on customized compensation design and implementation
- Consult with internal partners on situations requiring customized solutions (e.g., retention, competitive offers)
- Independently handle complex compensation questions (Tier IV escalations) from executive clients
- Coach internal partners on compensation-related decisions, including regulatory implications and mitigation strategies
- Lead compensation design and adaptation processes that synthesize market information, interpreting new/emerging legislation and industry trends
- Manage and review compensation analyses and reports, monitoring program effectiveness
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership for review and approval of compensation models
- Consult and partner with business HR teams as a subject matter expert on compensation programs and processes
- Drive complex, risk-intensive projects and resolve intricate compensation issues
- Lead short-term compensation solutions and recommend long-term solutions to meet business needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related field AND 6+ years experience in compensation, data analytics, human resources, finance, business, or related field OR equivalent experience
- OR Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related field AND 4+ years experience in compensation, data analytics, human resources, finance, business, or related field OR equivalent experience
- 3+ years experience producing data-driven reporting and insights for senior and executive stakeholders, with demonstrated proficiency in data analytics and Microsoft Excel
- 3+ years compensation program design experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related field OR Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related field
- 6+ years experience in compensation, data analytics, human resources, finance, business, or related field OR 4+ years with a Master's degree

- Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related field AND 8+ years experience in compensation, data analytics, human resources, finance, business, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related field AND 12+ years experience in compensation, data analytics, human resources, finance, business, or related field OR equivalent experience
- 3+ years project management experience
- 2+ years experience working in the specific position's relevant regional labor, compensation, and statutory context
