Senior, Accounting and Financial Reporting

About This Role

The Senior, Accounting and Financial Reporting will collaborate with finance and accounting teams to provide day-to-day accounting and controllership support for enterprise solutions. This role ensures timely, accurate, and insightful financial information for business stakeholders and involves working within Deloitte's Controllership function.

Responsibilities

• Drive period, quarter, and year-end accounting processes, ensuring compliance with appropriate policy and accuracy of financial information within established deadlines
• Review and approve journal entries
• Analyze, interpret, and understand financial data to ensure reported amounts are accurate and aligned with expectations
• Support the review of business transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and firm policies
• Support capitalization accounting and compliance with US GAAP and firm policy; lead the quarterly review for intangible asset impairments
• Collaborate effectively with teams across Finance & Administration to review accounting transactions
• Demonstrate responsiveness by proactively assisting the team with critical deliverables for the Lead Controller or US Firms' Controller
• Support the implementation and execution of key controls and processes as applicable
• Responsible for various analyses, ad-hoc reporting, and special reporting requests
• Participate in broader Controllership transformation initiatives and other ad hoc projects
• Support in executing process improvement opportunities to improve efficiency, increase digitization, enhance value created, and delivered by Controllership
• Identify opportunities to transform processes utilizing technology enablers
• Partner with peers within and across other A&C teams to share ideas and collaborate on ways to improve Controllership processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• 4+ years of relevant Finance or Accounting experience
• Understanding of US GAAP and methodologies for technical research
• Ability to understand and support application of operational and technical accounting
• Ability to adapt and respond to change and uncertainty while operating in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
• A process-improvement mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and identify improvements
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written)
• Able to operate effectively within Deloitte's culture of engagement and belonging, within virtual teams and across geographic and cultural boundaries
• Enthusiastic, self-starter who is highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Possess analytical skills with the ability to solve problems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• 4+ years of relevant Finance or Accounting experience
