About This Role

This role involves collaborating with finance and accounting teams to provide day-to-day accounting and controllership support for enterprise solutions. The Senior will ensure timely, accurate, and insightful financial information is provided to business stakeholders. This position may also involve collaboration with FP&A and Global Finance Services teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive period, quarter, and year-end accounting processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Review and approve journal entries
  • Analyze, interpret, and understand financial data for accuracy and alignment with expectations
  • Support the review of business transactions for compliance with US GAAP and firm policies
  • Support capitalization accounting and compliance with US GAAP and firm policy
  • Lead the quarterly review for intangible asset impairments
  • Collaborate effectively with teams across Finance & Administration to review accounting transactions
  • Proactively assist the team with critical deliverables for the Lead Controller or US Firms' Controller
  • Support the implementation and execution of key controls and processes
  • Responsible for various analyses, ad-hoc reporting, and special reporting requests
  • Participate in broader Controllership transformation initiatives and other ad hoc projects
  • Support in executing process improvement opportunities to improve efficiency and increase digitization
  • Identify opportunities to transform processes utilizing technology enablers
  • Partner with peers within and across other A&C teams to share ideas and collaborate on ways to improve Controllership processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, or 2 years of accounting/auditing experience in a professional services firm
  • Understanding of US GAAP and methodologies for technical research
  • Ability to understand and support application of operational and technical accounting
  • Ability to adapt and respond to change and uncertainty while operating in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Process-improvement mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and identify improvements
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Able to operate effectively within Deloitte's culture of engagement and belonging, within virtual teams and across geographic and cultural boundaries
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter who is highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Analytical skills with the ability to solve problems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, or 2 years of accounting/auditing experience in a professional services firm.

  • CPA and/or MBA
  • Data analysis skillsets and experience with the use of advanced technologies
  • Advanced in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Proficiency in Tableau or PowerBI
  • Understanding and proficiency of SAP and other financial applications
  • Advanced understanding of data science and visualization tools (Python, SQL)
  • Machine learning algorithms
  • Artificial intelligence software
