Security Officer - Transit Monitor

About This Role

As a Security Officer - Transit Monitor, you will safeguard clients in a government setting by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, deterring incidents, and assisting staff and visitors. Daily, you'll document observations, respond to security concerns, and escalate issues as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas
• Document observations and report hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or suspicious activity
• Control access by monitoring entrances, verifying identification, and directing visitors
• Complete detailed reports for incidents, patrols, and daily activities
• Support security-related investigations by preserving information and coordinating with authorized personnel

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age (21+ for armed roles)
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a background investigation
• Ability to pass a drug screen

Qualifications
