Security Officer - Shelter Intake Patrol

About This Role

As a Security Officer - Shelter Intake Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a shelter environment by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, conducting routine rounds, and maintaining a visible presence to reduce security-related incidents. You will communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors, document observations, and respond to concerns with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff following Allied Universal procedures and site-specific policies
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, entrances, stairwells, and perimeter areas
• Monitor access points, observe visitor flow, and assist with entry procedures as directed by site policy
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts
• Prepare complete and accurate reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations
• Perform routine checks of doors, gates, and building systems as assigned, and report maintenance issues
• Provide security-related presence during resident movement, services, and برنامج hours, assisting staff with maintaining orderly operations
• Operate communications equipment and site technology as assigned, including radios, phones, and/or incident reporting systems

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a background investigation
• Ability to pass a drug screen
