As a Security Officer at a medical center in Cleveland, OH, you will patrol various areas, identify and report security concerns, support vaccine operations, and assist patients, visitors, and staff with professionalism. You will respond to incidents, conduct regular patrols, control access points, and document all activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, including disturbances, medical emergencies, and fire alarms, coordinating with clinical staff and local responders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or policy concerns.
- Control access at designated points by monitoring entrances, checking identification, and directing foot traffic according to site procedures.
- Observe and report unusual activity, policy violations, or maintenance concerns, then complete detailed shift logs and incident reports promptly.
- Provide de-escalation support for disruptive behavior using verbal techniques and presence, requesting additional assistance when needed.
- Assist with lost and found, wayfinding, and visitor inquiries while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Operate security-related systems such as radios, telephones, access control, and video monitoring equipment, and communicate clearly with team members.
- Support patient watch or special observation assignments as directed, maintaining required documentation and escalation steps.
- Participate in required briefings and training, and follow Allied Universal and site policies for confidentiality.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Vaccines required for hospital posts
- Subject to a background investigation
- Subject to a drug screen
Qualifications
