About This Role

Serve and safeguard clients in a healthcare environment by conducting routine rounds, maintaining a visible presence, and monitoring various areas for security concerns. Support staff, patients, and visitors with professional customer service and timely reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to hospital staff, patients, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating updates to leadership
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout hospital buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards
• Monitor access points and controlled areas, verifying authorization and directing patients and visitors
• Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation in a timely manner
• Observe for and report suspicious behavior, unsecured doors, or unusual conditions, escalating concerns
• Assist with crowd control and line management during peak times, special events, and/or emergency department surges
• Support emergency response activities such as evacuation support, shelter-in-place coordination, and securing impacted areas
• Use radio communications and other approved devices to maintain situational awareness and coordinate responses
• Provide guidance and de-escalation support during conflict situations

Requirements

• Hospital vaccines required
• Proof of high school diploma or GED
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles)
• High school diploma or equivalent
