Security Officer - Government Patrol Entry

About This Role

Serve and safeguard clients as a part-time Security Officer for Government Patrol Entry in New York, NY, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to maintain a secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies
• Respond to emergency situations when appropriate
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, following established protocols for government locations
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior
• Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols to the appropriate personnel
• Maintain a professional presence and interact with visitors, staff, and/or members of the public in a courteous manner
• Document all incidents, observations, and activities in daily reports as required by Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying identification, and granting entry as appropriate for a government facility

Requirements

• Valid New York State Security Guard License
• At least 1 year of security-related experience
• Proof of high school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of security-related experience

Nice to Have

• Customer service experience
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet
