Security Officer Gated Community

About This Role

This role involves safeguarding a gated community in Newport Beach, CA, by managing access control, conducting patrols, and responding to incidents. You will provide professional customer experience to residents and visitors while ensuring unauthorized access is deterred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and property staff by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies
• Control access to the property by verifying identification and/or authorization
• Manage visitor and contractor check-in and check-out, issuing temporary credentials as directed
• Maintain access logs and monitor entry points, gates, and common areas for unusual activity
• Help to deter unauthorized access by maintaining a visible presence and promptly addressing policy violations
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner
• Document details of incidents and notify property management and/or emergency services as required
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the property, common areas, and perimeter
• Complete required reports and activity logs

Requirements

• Possess 1+ years' armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a background investigation
• Ability to pass a drug screen

• A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred
