Security Officer - Armed Patrol Officer

About This Role

Serve and safeguard clients as an Armed Patrol Officer, conducting routine patrols, responding to calls for service, and documenting observations at a government location in Miami, FL.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to deter unwanted activity and identify potential hazards or policy violations
• Monitor access control points and screen authorized entry, verify identification and/or credentials, and assist with directing foot and vehicle traffic
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, requesting medical support and/or law enforcement
• Complete detailed shift activity reports and incident documentation, maintain control of assigned equipment, and communicate key information during shift briefings and handoffs

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge, or an associate's degree, or 60 college credits, or a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate
• Ability to participate in industry-specific security training programs
• Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

Nice to Have

• Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience
• Baton certification
