Security Guard - Retail Site

About This Role

Serve and safeguard clients in a retail environment by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, deterring security incidents through high visibility, and responding to incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, tenants, associates, and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of sales floors, common areas, entrances, loading areas, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, and potential hazards; report observations and help to deter unwanted activity through high-visibility presence and professional communication.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, coordinating with onsite management, and requesting law enforcement and/or medical support as needed.
• Complete detailed reports of incidents, patrol activity, and customer interactions; maintain accurate logs and communicate pertinent information during shift turnovers.

Requirements

• 1+ years of security-related experience
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles)
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of security-related experience

Nice to Have

• X-Ray screening experience
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet
• Access control and/or badge experience
• Customer service experience
• Valid driver's license for driving positions
