Provide dedicated nursing care to students with Type 1 Diabetes in a school setting, ensuring their safety and monitoring during transport and within the school environment.
Responsibilities
- Accompany a bus route with students diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, ensuring safety and monitoring throughout transport
- Provide clinical support in the school nurse’s office during the school day
- Supervise students with Type 1 Diabetes on the bus ride home
Requirements
- School nursing experience
- Comfort managing multiple Type 1 diabetic students (2–3)
- Strong proficiency with continuous glucose monitoring
- Strong proficiency with Dexcom
- Overall Type 1 Diabetes management
- At least 6 months of nursing experience
- BLS from American Heart Association
- Physical, QuantiFERON within a year
- MMR Titers within 10 years
