Infusion Homecare Registered Nurse (RN)

About This Role

Provide high-quality home infusion nursing care to patients in Westchester County. Conduct patient visits to initiate and follow-up on care, educating patients and families on therapy administration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient visits to initiate patient care
• Perform follow-up visits as needed
• Precept and evaluate the skills of newly hired nurses as requested
• Partner with Infusion Intake Team to ensure seamless initiation of infusion care in patient's homes
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments
• Demonstrate PIV, PICC, Mid & Central line care, and access competence
• Educate the patient and/or family in therapy administration via IV
• Prepare and administer infusion therapy
• Ensure patient safety, monitoring, and post-infusion follow-up
• Communicate with patients, families, infusion pharmacy, and medical providers as necessary

Requirements

• 3+ years of registered nurse experience in home care infusion, hospital, clinic, or medical facility
• Infusion experience
• Knowledge of principles & practices of supervision, performance evaluation, and education
• Knowledge of Federal HIPAA Regulations
• Knowledge of standard nursing policies, procedures, methods, and techniques
• Ability to read and interpret clinical documents
• Ability to participate in a multi-disciplinary health care team
• Up-to-date medical, inclusive of Physical, TB Clearance/QuantiFERON Gold blood test, 2-step PPD or T-Spot, or Chest X-ray and Habituation Statement
• MMR-Varicella Titers Lab Report or Vaccination Records
• TDAP Vaccine - Hep B Vaccination Series, Titers OR Declination
• Urine Drug Screen (UDS) - within the last year is acceptable
• Flu Vaccination (if applicable) or Declination
• Two (2) forms of government-approved ID to validate employment eligibility
• Two (2) satisfactory professional references
• Reliable transportation

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a home care infusion company, hospital, clinic, or medical facility

Nice to Have

• Supervisory or managerial experience
• ACLS certification
• Implanted port access (MediPort, PermaCath, etc.) competence

Certifications
