School Psychologist Intern

About This Role

This School Psychologist Intern position aims to provide strategic services to identify and address social-emotional-environmental issues that hinder students' educational progress. The intern will complete special education evaluations, facilitate counseling groups, and collaborate with various stakeholders to promote positive school adjustment.

Responsibilities

• Complete special education evaluations
• Facilitate counseling groups and provide individual counseling
• Assist with writing and implementing behavior intervention plans
• Attend team and IEP meetings
• Determine and implement evidence-based strategies for student behavioral interactions
• Provide crisis intervention services
• Conduct classroom meetings, psycho-educational social skills groups, and classroom presentations
• Maintain required clinical records and submit appropriate documents for statistical reports
• Serve as liaison between families and the school to promote collaborative processes in educational planning
• Locate community resources to support the educational program

Requirements

• Eligibility for an approved Internship in School Psychology
• Demonstrated knowledge in assessment, consultation, counseling, technology, diversity, problem solving
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff and parents
• Computer skills including spreadsheets
• Knowledge about evidence based practices and interventions for social-emotional learning needs
