Sanitation Worker

About This Role

Maintain sanitary conditions within the processing plant, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards by using appropriate cleaning tools and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning using high-pressure hoses, scratch pads, brushes, sponges, squeegees, shovels, and brooms
• Operate all machinery safely in the assigned cleaning area using lock-outs when necessary
• Remove static product, foreign material, and product buildup from equipment or areas by hand scrubbing, chemical foaming, shoveling, scraping, rinsing, and sweeping
• Properly mix and use potentially hazardous chemicals to clean and sanitize
• Operate pallet jacks for rock and product tote removal in receiving
• Paint machinery and walls as directed
• Meet or exceed all prerequisite and performance standards of the Sanitation Laborer position and work all areas of the plant
• Participate in AMD drumbeats and other continuous improvement activities

Requirements

• Ability to be qualified within established time frames
• Ability to perform basic math functions
• Ability to effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
