Sales Associate

About This Role

This role involves assisting customers, processing sales, and performing operational duties to maintain a clean and well-stocked convenience store. Sales Associates provide fast, friendly customer service and accurate transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet and thank each customer courteously, providing fast and friendly customer service
• Conduct accurate and efficient sales transactions and handle customer concerns
• Perform merchandising activities including proper pricing, promotions, and stocking (including cooler)
• Maintain timely and professional communication with customers, vendors, employees, and management
• Work as a team to efficiently serve customers while adhering to regulations
• Utilize point of sale systems, computers, and hand-held devices, performing mathematical calculations
• Help train new employees and perform loss control functions related to cash handling, lottery, and merchandise
• Adhere to all company and position-specific policies and procedures

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Friendly, customer service-oriented personality
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
• Reliable transportation to work
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations for change and reports
• Ability to learn new concepts and use computer/office machinery
• Physical ability to move products in cooler/freezer, lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to remain standing for up to nine hours per shift
• Ability to visually observe and inspect items/work environment
• Ability and willingness to occasionally ascend and descend ladders
• Ability to perform assigned tasks with accuracy and minimal supervision
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Successful pre-employment background check and drug test

Nice to Have

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Customer service or retail sales experience
