Room Service Attendant

About This Role

Provide patient meal service and ensure patient satisfaction regarding food and nutrition services by interacting with patients, taking meal orders, assembling trays, and delivering meals.

Responsibilities

• Visit patients to obtain or discuss menu selections based upon dietary orders
• Enter or record all daily patient meal selections and preferences for one or more patient units
• Demonstrate appropriate judgment with modified diets, food and menu knowledge when relating to patients
• Provide patient meal assembly which may include setting up tray work stations, preparing/portioning assigned foods
• Deliver and serve meals while making independent judgments about special requests, snacks and nourishments
• Provide excellent customer service on the phone or in person and resolve customer complaints effectively and efficiently
• Maintain food handling and sanitation standards to meet licensing agency requirements
• Resolve minor problems with patient menus and trays

Requirements

• Reading, writing and mathematical skills
• Skills and knowledge of nutrition services
• Effective interpersonal communication skills and a friendly customer service attitude

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of related experience in nutrition services

Nice to Have

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
• Understanding of nutrition services, common modified diets, and portion measures
• Additional skills and knowledge in health care nutrition services
• Bilingual skills
