About This Role

As an Operating Room Nurse, you will provide excellent patient care during operative and invasive procedures under the direction of the OR Manager. You will collaborate with a team to ensure the operating room is adequately prepared for procedures and maintain accurate charting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general nursing duties and be competent in all OR procedures as verified by specific competencies
  • Facilitate smooth and efficient room turnover and patient flow
  • Complete all paperwork and computer charting to ensure accurate and timely charting and patient charges
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon
  • Count all sponges, needles, and instruments with the OR Tech on all surgical procedures done following facility policies and procedures
  • Facilitate communications between patient, surgeon, OR staff, family, and other departments as needed
  • Follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, universal precautions, and use of personal protective equipment
  • Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure

Requirements

  • Current State of Utah Registered Nurse License
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification
  • One or more years of OR experience
