RN - Med/Surg

About This Role

Provide professional nursing care to assigned patients in a Med/Surg unit, ensuring physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs are met. Maintain accurate medical records and coordinate patient care according to established standards and the Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to all assigned patients in accordance with established standards of care and the Nurse Practice Act
• Meet the physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs of assigned patients
• Maintain patients' medical records with proper documentation of nursing observation and actions
• Plan, delegate, and coordinate nursing care provided to the patient
• Utilize the nursing process and evidence-based practice to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
• Maintain patient dignity and privacy at all times
• Supervise the work of LPNs, Aides/Techs, Ward Clerks, Students, Environmental Services, and other non-professional personnel

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served
• Proficient oral, computer, and written communication skills
• Proficient interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
