About This Role

The Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care within an oncology setting, communicating and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care using critical thinking, nursing processes, and compassion, while preserving patient autonomy and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients appropriately and accurately based on their medical condition.
• Administer ordered medications as prescribed.
• Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including basic self-care activities.
• Formulate and evaluate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs, including family as appropriate.
• Perform treatments and provide services utilizing nursing knowledge.
• Communicate and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in providing patient care.
• Assist physicians with procedures and perform services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Identify and address psychosocial needs of patients and family, communicating with social services regarding both hospital and post-discharge needs.
• Prioritize patient care effectively and efficiently.
• Promote patient safety by reducing the risk of unnecessary harm associated with health care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Computer literacy.
• RN license.
• BLS Certification within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Entry level position.

Nice to Have

• ACLS/PALS Specialty Certification.
