RN Medical Diagnostic Unit

About This Role

The RN provides quality patient and family centered care in a Medical Diagnostic Unit, ensuring compliance with professional nursing standards and St. Charles Health System policies. This role oversees the work of other caregivers and focuses on enhancing the patient and family experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of nursing principles, practices, standards, and techniques in accordance with Oregon laws and St. Charles Health System policies
• Assess patient conditions and needs using critical thinking and clinical judgment, set outcomes, and implement appropriate nursing actions
• Collaborate with other disciplines to meet patients'/families' physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and intellectual needs
• Calculate dosages and administer medications accurately according to St. Charles Health System policies
• Document all patient care proficiently in compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory agencies
• Participate in activities that promote professional growth and development
• Communicate effectively (written and orally) and maintain professional relationships with caregivers, medical staff, patients, and guests
• Identify work-related problems with possible solutions and implement solutions within the scope of practice
• Provide and maintain a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests
• Deliver customer service and/or patient care in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient, and accurate

Requirements

• Current Oregon RN license
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification
• ACLS
• 1-2 years recent ICU, IMCU, or ER experience

Qualifications

• RN licensure required; BSN preferred
• 1-2 years recent ICU, IMCU, or ER experience; 6 months of recent endoscopy experience (pre-op/Phase I/Phase II recovery) preferred

Nice to Have

• BSN
• Department specific acute care certification (i.e. CPAN, CGRN, CAPA, CCRN)
• 6 months of recent endoscopy experience, including pre-op/Phase I/Phase II recovery
