About This Role

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals or families in the Cardiac Neuro Intensive Care Unit at St. Vincent Hospital. The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing leadership, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assess human responses and plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for individuals or families
• Provide leadership in a professional practice setting and contribute to building the team through role modeling and mentoring
• Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs and the skill level of staff
• Provide peers with verbal and written feedback regarding clinical practice and role performance
• Share knowledge and skills with peers and colleagues
• Participate on interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care or health services
• Promote patient safety initiatives and department-specific quality initiatives
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement a patient plan of care
• Assess patient reports/records change of condition, notify physicians, and intervene appropriately
• Continuously evaluate and assess patient and family satisfaction

Requirements

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
• CPR certification
