Risk & Control Health Data Analyst

About This Role

Join the Risk & Controls Oversight function at Stripe as a Compliance Data Analyst. Conduct technical assessments of the risk and control environment, develop data-driven insights, and create dynamic dashboards to represent risk and control health.

Responsibilities

• Produce comprehensive risk assessments and control health analyses by compiling data at the macro level and researching code bases to understand individual controls
• Aggregate and monitor testing results to identify trends and patterns in risk and control effectiveness
• Use overarching assessments to guide deeper investigations into individual controls, creating a continuous feedback loop for improvement
• Conduct rigorous technical testing of individual controls, leveraging expertise in data analysis
• Identify compliance control deficiencies, assess their impact and draw appropriate conclusions
• Leverage emerging technologies to facilitate speed, dynamism, and accuracy in risk and control testing and assessments
• Deliver reporting on test outputs to key compliance and cross-functional stakeholders
• Clearly communicate complex technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Contribute to Top Risk Reporting, providing data-driven insights on critical risk areas
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and methodologies in risk assessment and data analysis

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data analysis, or a related field
• Proficiency in data analysis, SQL, and comfort working with LLM and AI technologies
• Experience in designing and developing metrics that effectively communicate risk and control narratives
• Experience with data visualization tools and creating dashboards
• Solid understanding of risk management principles, control frameworks, and compliance areas
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and derive meaningful insights
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in data analysis and reporting
• Effective communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to various stakeholders
• Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data analysis, or a related field, preferably in the fintech or financial services sector
