The Retail Supervisor assists in managing all aspects of retail unit operations, including staff, inventory, and property, to achieve financial goals and company initiatives. This role also involves fostering a team environment that delivers exceptional customer service and ensures high performance from staff members.
Responsibilities
- Ensure complete guest satisfaction and resolve complaints according to customer service standards
- Monitor and supervise the setup and maintenance of the retail area and cashier stations
- Complete and assist clerks with sales in POS accurately and efficiently
- Assist in recruiting, supervising, scheduling, disciplining, reviewing, and directing unit staff
- Train hourly staff for peak performance and monitor their development
- Maintain a safe facility environment, including standards for equipment, inventory, housekeeping, sanitation, cash control, dress, and employee hygiene
- Notify the General Manager of all unusual events, circumstances, or safety/quality control issues
- Assist the management team with inventory procedures
- Receive and verify quantities of merchandise, organize and stock the store, and set displays
- Perform opening and/or closing procedures
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in retail
- Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people
- Ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities
- Ability to work well as a team leader
- Ability to problem-solve
- Strong customer service abilities
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred. Bachelor's or Business Degree preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in retail.
