Retail Key Holder

About This Role

This Part-Time Key Holder position is responsible for opening and closing the store and performing managerial duties in the absence of management. The role involves assisting the store during high-volume periods, supporting new employees, and providing excellent customer service while driving sales.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and establishing rapport with customers while informing them of products and services
• Open and close the store, arriving early and leaving late as required
• Assist the store in periods of high volume and provide support for new employees
• Utilize knowledge of in-house products to provide customers with recommendations
• Assist with inventory management tasks such as restocking merchandise, conducting inventory counts, and identifying discrepancies
• Process cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including opening and closing tills, counting cash, and preparing deposits
• Operate scanners, cash registers, and other electronics
• Follow proper age verification policies
• Ensure all prices and quantities are accurate and provide a customer receipt
• Process refunds and exchanges
• Monitor the sales floor to prevent theft and minimize loss, including conducting bag checks and ensuring adherence to security procedures
• Maintain store cleanliness and assist in upholding standards on the sales floor, stock room, lockers, and bathrooms
• Train new employees on store procedures, product knowledge, and customer service standards

Requirements

• 1+ years leadership experience in retail, grocery, military, restaurant or equivalent experience
• Ability to work with fluid schedules, including peak hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Basic math skills and proficiency in cash handling
• Team-oriented mentality
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds
• High School Diploma or equivalent
