Retail Key Holder

About This Role

This Part Time Key Holder role is responsible for opening and closing the store, assisting customers, and supporting new employees. The position plays a key part in maintaining store operations, driving sales, and ensuring excellent customer service in the absence of management.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and establishing rapport with customers
• Inform customers of products and services available
• Open and close the store with early arrival and late departure as needed
• Assist the store during high-volume periods
• Provide support for new employees, including training on procedures, product knowledge, and customer service
• Offer product recommendations to customers based on in-house knowledge
• Assist with inventory management tasks such as restocking, counting, and identifying discrepancies
• Process cash transactions accurately, including opening/closing tills, counting cash, and preparing deposits
• Operate scanners, cash registers, and other electronic equipment
• Follow proper age verification policies
• Ensure all prices and quantities are accurate and provide customer receipts
• Process refunds and exchanges
• Monitor the sales floor to prevent theft and minimize loss, including bag checks and security adherence
• Maintain store cleanliness standards in the sales floor, stock room, lockers, and bathrooms

Requirements

• 1+ years leadership experience in retail, grocery, military, restaurant or equivalent
• Ability to work with fluid schedules, including peak hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Basic math skills and proficiency in cash handling
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds
• High School Diploma or equivalent
