The Respiratory Therapy Apprentice will assist in the therapy of individuals with healthcare issues affecting the cardiopulmonary system on adult general inpatient care areas excluding critical care, under the on-shift support and supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist. This role provides valuable hands-on experience to aid in passing board exams and developing a career in respiratory therapy.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the therapy of individuals with healthcare issues affecting the cardiopulmonary system on adult general inpatient care areas excluding critical care
- Work under the on-shift support of a licensed Respiratory Therapist
- Ensure RT Apprentice documentation is reviewed and countersigned
- Adhere to activities as directed by the RT manager/supervisor
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a university program for respiratory therapy
- Minimum of 3 semesters of preceptor clinical education
- Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification
