Respiratory Therapist - Weekend Option

About This Role

This role involves performing respiratory care modalities according to established standards and practices, including patient assessment, treatment, and collaboration with physicians. The Respiratory Therapist will work a weekend option schedule (24 hours per weekend).

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy modalities as per physician orders and clinical guidelines
• Chart treatment, patient response, and progress
• Perform patient assessment and develop a comprehensive pulmonary care plan
• Modify therapy to maximize efficacy of the treatment regimen
• Collaborate with physicians to manage the initiation, maintenance, and weaning of patients requiring ventilatory support
• Maintain active communication with patients regarding progress, problems, and home programs
• Provide quality care consistent with policies, quality assessment programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across patient life spans
• Assess and interpret age-specific patient data and provide appropriate treatment
• Maintain professional growth through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations

Requirements

• Associate's Degree
• 1 year relevant experience
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist
• Registered Respiratory Therapist - NBRC
• Basic Life Support
• Graduate of an accredited program in respiratory therapy
