Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

About This Role

Join as a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide critical respiratory care to patients of all ages, utilizing various clinical settings and maintaining proficiency in respiratory therapy principles and patient assessment.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures to patients as prescribed by physicians
• Perform nebulizer therapy, oxygen therapy, metered dose inhalers, pulmonary function tests
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs monitoring and airway management
• Demonstrate correct intubation procedures
• Obtain routine and non-routine EKG's, ensuring acceptable tracings
• Obtain Arterial Blood Gas samples, assuring prompt delivery to the Laboratory
• Operate and maintain ventilators and other respiratory equipment
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care settings (ICU, Med Surg, OB, Emergency Department)
• Provide education to patients and families regarding respiratory conditions and treatment plans
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately in medical records
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medical terminology standards, and safety protocols

Requirements

• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Care Technology Program
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license by the State of North Carolina
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to respiratory care
• Proficiency in basic life support techniques and advanced airway management skills
• Familiarity with ventilator management and patient assessment protocols

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Care Technology Program
• One (1) year of experience preferred
