Respiratory Therapist

About This Role

This role involves providing comprehensive respiratory care treatments, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to a diverse patient population from neonatal to geriatric. You will monitor and wean oxygen therapy, analyze arterial blood gases, and assist with artificial airways as ordered by physicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients
• Monitor and wean Oxygen Therapy and Artificial ventilation
• Draw, analyze, and report Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs
• Deliver intermittent therapy
• Assist with changing of artificial airways
• Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures
• Review and document all clinical information regarding each patient encounter
• Educate patients and healthcare team on procedures and treatment plans
• Perform diagnostic procedures
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and appropriate communication style

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy
• 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
• Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire
• Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy
• 2 Years Respiratory Therapy Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
