Respiratory Therapist

About This Role

This role involves performing essential respiratory therapy duties, including administering patient medications and oxygen, troubleshooting equipment, and monitoring patient welfare. Critical thinking and the ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays are required.

Responsibilities

• Exercise concern for patient's welfare
• Prepare and administer patient medications
• Provide oxygen administration
• Perform emergency procedures
• Monitor appropriate record systems
• Troubleshoot procedures and equipment

Requirements

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of respiratory therapy
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in Mississippi
• Registered as CRT or RRT with NBRC
• Maintain certifications in BLS and ACLS
• Ability to read and interpret physician orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Able to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilities
• Critical thinking skills

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of respiratory therapy
