Respiratory Therapist

About This Role

Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct respiratory care for premature, pediatric, and adult patients in a hospital setting. This role involves assessing the airway needs of critically ill patients and educating staff, patients, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct care for premature, pediatric, and adult patients
• Assess the status and immediate airway needs of the critically ill neonate, pediatric, or adult patient in the intra-hospital transport, intensive care, and general care environment
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age
• Participate in the education of ACH staff, patients, and parents
• Staff may be temporarily assigned to an area throughout the ACH enterprise, based on patient needs requiring similar knowledge and skill

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Respiratory Care
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT)
• Current OH Respiratory Care Professional license
• Current Health Care Provider BLS training
• NRP, PALS, ACLS, and STABLE certification within 1 year of hire
• Experience in respiratory care
• Experience working with all levels within an organization
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Respiratory Care
• New graduates or less than 1 year of neonatal/pediatric or adult critical care experience. Experience in respiratory care is required.
