About This Role

The LPN Resident Care Nurse delivers quality assisted living services, focusing on maximizing residents' individual capabilities and maintaining compliance with standards. This role involves direct patient care, medication management, and support to the Resident Care Director.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the medication program, including accuracy of medication assistance records (MARs), providing hands-on medication assistance to residents, and monitoring med passes
  • Perform treatments according to physician orders
  • Take blood pressure, pulse, blood sugar, etc.
  • Chart relevant information about residents
  • Update and inform physicians of changes in resident’s condition
  • Transcribe new physician orders to medication sheets and chart appropriately
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living
  • Order and re-order medications for residents from assigned pharmacies as needed
  • Promptly respond to call lights and other requests from residents
  • Provide report to staff for the next shift
  • Assist Resident Care Director with supervisory responsibilities, including training, supervision, and counseling of the resident care team
  • Assist with scheduling department hours appropriately

Requirements

  • Active LPN license in good standing
  • CPR certification upon hire, or obtain during orientation
  • Current First Aid certification (if required by State)
  • Expert knowledge in field of practice
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Knowledgeable of nursing practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in an assisted living community

Qualifications

  • One (1) year experience in senior services preferred

Certifications

CPR certification (Required) First Aid Certification (Required)
