About This Role

Prepare nutritious, high-quality meals with a hospitality focus for residents, ensuring timely service and adherence to all regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain system to ensure timely meal services
  • Check daily menu and special events calendar for necessary food and supplies
  • Prepare meals meeting nutritional requirements and appetizing in appearance
  • Garnish plates to enhance overall dining experience
  • Prepare food based on standardized recipes
  • Make only authorized substitutions
  • Season food appropriately
  • Serve food based on established portion controls
  • Assist in preparation of special meals and for special events
  • Estimate portions and utilize leftovers appropriately to reduce food costs
  • Operate kitchen within state and county regulations including sanitation, food storage, recordkeeping, food temperatures, portion sizes, chemical usage/storage
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently: steamer, oven, grill, meat slicer, mixer, grinder, dishwasher, etc.
  • Maintain cooler and freezer properly: dates and labels food, no food on floor, etc.
  • Assist with putting up stock on delivery days
  • Assist with daily kitchen duties: washing pots/pans, putting up stock, removing trash and boxes, cleaning steam table and checking water levels
  • Complete daily cleaning assignments
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment
  • Follow local and state handwashing procedures to ensure food safety
  • Assist with supervisory duties in absence of Dining Services Director

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year scratch food preparation experience
  • Prior experience regularly preparing meals for large groups
  • ServSafe certified

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year scratch food preparation experience
