About This Role

Capture compelling video highlights of camp activities throughout the week and produce a high-quality summary video for the closing ceremony. This role involves organizing footage, editing, and uploading videos to media platforms while ensuring a positive experience for children and parents, embodying YMCA core values.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and plan efficient strategies to maximize footage capture from Sunday to Friday
  • Maintain the quality of all captured footage
  • Collaborate with the media team and administrative staff to ensure continuous filming of staff and campers
  • Produce and edit a session video, two songs in duration, using footage captured throughout the week
  • Ensure music used is family-appropriate, free from provocative language, drug/alcohol references, sexual innuendos, and political references
  • Create videos with a happy, nostalgic theme
  • Sleep in cabins with campers when required
  • Supervise children when co-counselors are on time off, if needed
  • Upload session videos to the camp’s media platforms
  • Maintain organization of session video clips for year-round marketing use

Requirements

  • Ability to live on camp property during the season

Qualifications

  • Prefer 1 year of filming and editing experience

Nice to Have

  • 1 year of filming and editing experience
  • Knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations

Certifications

CPR (Required) First Aid (Required) Child Abuse Prevention Training (Required) O2 certifications (Required)
