This remote Pharmacy Technician role focuses on supporting clinical pharmacy programs by managing Electronic Prior Authorization (ePA) requests for patients residing in Texas. The role involves coordinating with healthcare providers, pharmacies, and payers to ensure efficient processing and approval of medication authorizations.
Responsibilities
- Complete electronic prior authorization requests within EMR systems and external payer portals
- Review patient charts and supporting documentation
- Outreach to providers, pharmacies, and patients to obtain required information
- Follow up with payers on pending authorization cases
- Coordinate with pharmacies regarding medication approvals
- Monitor and manage inboxes and phone queues
- Maintain accuracy while meeting defined turnaround times
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Texas State Pharmacy Technician license
- At least 6 months of experience in pharmacy, prior authorization, call center, or customer service
- Prior authorization experience
- Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and critical thinking skills
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED

Nice to Have
- Experience with electronic prior authorization systems
- Auditing experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
