Rehabilitation Counselor

About This Role

This role involves providing rehabilitation counseling and guidance to individuals with disabilities in Wood County, assisting them in obtaining or maintaining competitive employment by planning and arranging vocational rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitation counseling and guidance to individuals with disabilities in the general field territory
• Incorporate rehabilitation techniques and standards to plan and arrange vocational rehabilitation services
• Assist individuals with physical and/or mental disabilities in obtaining or maintaining competitive employment
• Conduct vocational assessment, guidance, and counseling regarding determination of a vocational goal
• Refer clients for evaluations and diagnostics and develop comprehensive plans for employment
• Evaluate medical documentation to determine eligibility for services and impact of disability
• Have extensive contact with the public through community groups and service providers
• Serve as a resource for businesses and employers or representatives of public and private agencies
• Travel within the county to contact clients, community rehabilitation programs, and employers

Requirements

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid driver's license or reliable means of transportation
