Employment Programs Interviewer

About This Role

This position interviews customers to gather information for unemployment benefits or job placement, performs data entry, and refers job seekers to available jobs and partner agencies for services. Additionally, the role involves working with employers to post job openings, make referrals, and verify hires.

Responsibilities

• Interview customers to obtain information related to unemployment benefits or job placement
• Perform data entry to enter customer information
• Assist and refer available jobs to job seekers
• Refer job seekers to partner agencies for services such as transportation and training
• Work with employers to encourage the posting of job openings
• Make appropriate referrals and verify hires with employers
• Follow agency policies and procedures
• Process job orders and follow-up with employers
• Take phone calls from customers and employers
• Learn about partner agencies and provide referrals

Requirements

• High school diploma or the equivalent
• 2 years of full-time paid employment experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent
• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment, or substitution with successful full-time or equivalent part-time study from an accredited college or university (30 semester hours for every one year of experience) or vocational school training (1080 clock hours for every one year of experience).
