This role provides high-level administrative and supervisory support to the Executive Director of the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department, overseeing operations across a six-county region. Key responsibilities include acting as a primary liaison to the Board of Health and managing significant human resources tasks.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative relief to the Executive Director, including managing calendars and scheduling appointments
- Serve as the primary liaison and secretary to the Mid-Ohio Valley Board of Health, preparing agendas, reports, and ensuring a quorum is present at meetings
- Assist the Human Resources Manager with HR tasks such as creating job postings, participating in interviews, processing personnel transactions, and maintaining personnel and I-9 files
- Act as a benefits coordinator for health and life insurance
- Oversee and supervise two maintenance positions and one part-time IT position, managing their work requests, schedules, and leave approvals
- Handle financial coordination for administrative accounts, including preparing purchase requisitions and check requests, and processing local funding requests
- Serve as the primary notary for all agency grants and legal paperwork
- Assist in developing and implementing agency policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations like HIPAA
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university
- Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in a technical or professional position providing administrative services
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university. Preference given to majors in public or business administration, accounting, industrial relations, communications or related field.
- Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in a technical or professional position providing administrative services such as accounting, budgeting, project monitoring and reporting, personnel, or procurement and property.
