Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical

About This Role

Execute the nursing process at an advanced level to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care for medical-surgical patients. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, serve as a mentor, and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and analytical/critical thinking
• Provide relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics
• Partner with the patient and significant others through methods like bedside shift report and interdisciplinary rounds
• Practice using current clinical practice standards
• Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner
• Participate and support performance improvement and actively support/participate in shared governance at all levels
• Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessment and required education
• Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses to ensure a qualified workforce
• Promote Evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing

Requirements

• Current RN license (Georgia or Compact State)
• Current BLS certification
• Completion of accredited/approved school of nursing with requisition clinical hours
• Associates Degree or Diploma in Nursing

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Diploma in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred
• Completion of accredited/approved school of nursing with required clinical hours; direct patient care experience in medical-surgical or acute care is preferred
