Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients in an Intermediate Medical Care Unit by utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, determine priorities, and develop patient care plans.
Responsibilities
- Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
- Act as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU units
- Determine the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
- Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
- Serve as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments
- Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
- Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- BLS Basic Life Support
- 1 year of RN experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)
- 1 year of RN experience required, 6 months in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor of Science Nursing
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required within 6 months of hire)
- 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting
