Registered Nurse (RN) - ER

About This Role

Provide direct clinical patient care as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room, taking responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing care for assigned patients. Supervise staff to which appropriate care is delegated and support the CNO to ensure high-quality care and appropriate resource management.

Responsibilities

• Function as Staff Nurse role model with superior performance in all areas of practice, acting as a resource for ED staff and ancillary departments
• Demonstrate effective delegation skills, including daily staff assignments such as crash cart and accudata maintenance
• Maintain clear and open communication with nursing supervisor regarding ED patients and staffing needs, including patient discharges and break relief
• Take an active role in socialization and orientation of new staff members to the hospital and ED
• Maintain effective working relationships with peers, department director, nursing supervisors, and all other hospital departments
• Demonstrate ability to evaluate and provide feedback on employee performance
• Exemplify superior customer service skills with all customers, responding to concerns and utilizing the chain of command
• Provide verbal and written feedback to the department director on concerns affecting department operation or requiring intervention
• Round on all patients several times per shift to ensure updates on care and proactive steps for optimal service
• Give report to oncoming charge nurse, highlighting issues for smooth transition of care

Requirements

• Currently licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy
• CPR certification

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
