About This Role

This role coordinates staff, educational activities, and performance evaluations, playing a vital part in clinical service delivery and patient flow. The Coordinator also performs quality assurance studies and ensures compliance with clinical standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting delivery of clinical services and patient flow
  • Perform quality assurance studies and assist with implementation of QA/QI initiatives
  • Serve as a resource to staff and external contacts regarding clinical standards, policies, and procedures
  • Monitor departmental compliance with accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission requirements
  • Provide direct patient care as needed in accordance with scope and standards of practice
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuing education
  • Provide quality patient care and work other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance

Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (Tennessee or Compact State)
  • BCLS certification
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Decisive judgment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
  • Proficiency navigating multiple clinical software systems
  • Effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand)
  • Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required

  • BSN degree
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • Handle with Care certification
