Registered Nurse (RN) Adult ED

About This Role

This Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in an Adult ED setting. The RN coordinates patient care as part of a healthcare team and maintains high standards of professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Perform an assessment of the patient, leading to development, implementation and evaluation of a plan of care
• Administer, monitor and document therapeutic interventions and regimes
• Effectively manage rapidly changing situations
• Participate in clinical decision-making
• Educate patient and family/responsible party regarding disease process, individual care needs, wellness, safety issues, etc.
• Delegate and monitor care rendered by other members of nursing department and healthcare team
• Demonstrate standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice
• Participate in orientation, education and development of healthcare team
• Identify and participate in the performance improvement activities
• Maintain professional and departmental level competencies

Requirements

• Valid NJ RN License
• Knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures and standards
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to coordinate efforts of a team of care providers
